We offer two different options.

GROUPS WITH OUR COACH:

Our Groups program is suitable for any group who would like to add gymnastics skills to their training. Weather it be strength, flexibility or an over all body work out we can tailor a class to suit. Gymnastics is a great way to challenge your group to persevere and achieve new skills. Suitable as pre-season training for all sports teams as well as any other community groups.

The classes are based on developing the fundamental movement patterns which are essential for any other sports or activities.

These skills are:

* Safe Landings (imperative for every sport and in play)

* Spring (learning how to jump properly on and off all different heights and surfaces)

* Rotation (forwards, backwards, sideways, over, under and through)

* Balance (on different heights and surfaces while doing different shapes and movements)

* Locomotion (all different types of body movements and in all directions)

* Swing (grip strength as well as fast, slow and in all directions)

* Manipulative Skills (hand eye coordination and hand held equipment skills)

These are a set of recurring movements that form the building blocks for more complex skills in all sports and life. Good teaching practices set alongside a structured program is the best and most efficient way for all participants to learn these lifelong skills.

The participants will work intensively on activities that build these patterns as well as venture outside their comfort zone and will finish each lesson feeling invigorated and proud of what they have achieved.

GROUPS HIRING OUR FACILITY:

We hire our facility to groups who would like to use our floor space.

We have limited times that the floor is available for use so please contact hbc@nhgym.co.nz with the below information.

Please note: We cannot offer floor space between 930am – 11.30am, 3.30pm-8.00pm weekdays and 8.00am-5.30pm Saturday

CLASS STRUCTURE

WARM UP: The group will play a 10 min game to warm up and then move on to gymnastics stretches and shapes which they ill use during the session.

APPARATUS: They will be split into smaller groups (10 max) and each group will rotate around the different apparatus for the session (Floor, beam, bar, rings, vault, rhythmic)

TO FINISH: The group do a short warm down and stretch to finish.
