TUMBLING GYMNASTICS CLASSES

(8 –16 yrs)


CLASS: Friday and Saturday

$162 per term 

 

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Tumbling is a combination of different gymnastics floor skills all linked together to show speed, power and precision. Tumbling starts from beginner levels right up to international competitions.

Tumbling classes focus on floor skills only. The children will also work on basic shapes, strength and flexibility which help to build over all body awareness. This helps with other sports or other forms of gymnastics. The children progress at their individual rate and will move up the levels as they learn the skills needed for the next level.

SKILLS NEEDED FOR EACH LEVEL

Your child must be able to do the skills listed in each level before enrolling in the levels below. If they are not yet at the Level 1 requirements then we suggest they enroll in a Recreational Artistic class until they have mastered the skills for this level.

LEVEL 1: Forward rolls, basic handstand, basic cartwheel.

LEVEL 2: Forward & backward Walkovers, basic round off, Handstand hold, Cartwheel with straight legs, backward rolls, dive roll.

LEVEL 3: Standing flick flack on tramp, aerials, strong round off plus all level 2 skills.

 

CLASS STRUCTURE

WARM UP: The class starts with a basic gymnastics warm up and stretch.

CIRCUIT: The class will have a main focus on skill preparations but the children will also work on strength exercises. The classes will follow the recreational tumble routines as outlined by our national gymnastics body, GymSport NZ. There are 6 levels for the children to work on and they move up the levels as each one is achieved. There is also an opportunity for the children to compete at local recreational competitions if they like. The children will have use of a sprung floor, a tumble track, foam pit, an 18 meter long trampoline and a competitive trampoline.

TO FINISH: The class comes together to do a warm down and stretch

CLASS SIZE: Maximum 10 per class with 1 coach

**PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER MAKE UP CLASSES OR REFUNDS FOR ANY CLASSES THAT FALL ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY OR ARE MISSED DUE TO SICKNESS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF INJURY AT WHICH TIME WE WILL NEED A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE BEFORE WE CAN ISSUE A CREDIT ONTO YOUR ACCOUNT**

$162 per term

$20 per trial class - To book a trial class please contact tiffany@nhgym.co.nz

 

CLASS WITHDRAWALS

If you withdraw from a class midterm you will be charged the following:

Week 1 – 1x class (Regardless of attendance)

Week 2 – 2x classes (Regardless of attendance)

Week 3 till the end of each term – all classes up to and including the week you cancel the class (regardless of attendance) and $20.00 admin fee.

This applies to every class booked on your account per term.

 

*Leotards are ideal, but not compulsory. Fitted shorts and t-shirt are fine. Children must have bare feet unless medical reasons state otherwise. Long hair must be tied up and no jewelry. Club leotards for girls and club shorts/t-shirts for boys are available at the office and can be worn to training and the competitions*
