HBC SCHOOLS GYMNASTICS CLASSES

For boys and girls aged 5-18 years

RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS - (5 –18 yrs)

This is our most popular schools programme. The programme we deliver follows our recreational gymnastics outline and varies slightly depending on how many sessions are booked and the length of each session. We are very flexible with days and times & can take up to 50 children in one session. Perfect for a one off EOTC visit or as a full term booking.

CLASS STRUCTURE

The children arrive and have a quick safety briefing. We then head to the floor area where a short game is played, to warm up the muscles, followed by a proper gymnastics warm up and practising and learning gymnastics shapes. This is a great way to teach the children about body awareness and tension. The children are then split into groups (10 max per group) and for the remainder of the lesson they rotate around the different apparatus. Depending on the group size and the length of the visit the children will get to use bar, beam, vault, floor and rhythmic equipment.

WHERE?

This class runs from our HBC facility.

moveMprove GYMNASTICS CLASSES - (5 – 8 yrs)

A fantastically fun, action packed programme that teaches the basic fundamental movements which are the base of all sports. The programme is delivered in your school by our qualified coaches - you supply the space and the children, we supply the rest.

CLASS STRUCTURE

The class will start with a quick game to warm up. The children will then be split into smaller groups of 3-5 children and will be shown how each circuit works. The two coaches will be stationed on the harder circuits where some spotting or help may be needed while the teacher is welcome to help out where they feel comfortable. Most of the circuits are easy enough that the children can work independently but offer a wide range of fast paced activities. When the music sounds the children change circuits until they have completed each circuit once. They come together at the end of each class for a quick rundown of what they learnt.

*The warm up game and circuits changes each week and covers all the fundamental movement patterns over the course of the booking.

WHERE?

The moveMprove classes are run at your school hall. If you do not have a hall or a suitable inside area then there is always the option of running the classes outside (term 1 & 3 only). We will incorporate any sports equipment that you may have plus we will bring extra equipment that is needed for the program.

COST

COST: $4.80 + gst per child per 30 minute session

*we suggest 4-6 sessions to get the maximum benefit from the programme

SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOLS GYMNASTICS - (5 + yrs)

The programme we deliver follows our recreational gymnastics outline and varies slightly depending on the age and ability of the group. We are very flexible with days and times & can take up to 15 children in one session if each child has a teacher aid or carer with them.

CLASS STRUCTURE

Each class starts with a warm up on the floor area. We use different hand apparatus eg scarves, balls, hoops etc to get the children focused and to help keep them together as a group.

Depending on the age and ability of the children we will either move to a floor circuit or to the main equipment around the gym where the children will use rings, bar, vault, beam and floor.

We cater for a wide range of abilities and ages. We provide a program that helps the children develop their motor skills, over all body strength and confidence.

*The warm up game and circuits changes each week and covers all the fundamental movement patterns over the course of the booking.
